My research focuses on the role of growth receptor-bound protein 2 (GRB2) in acute myeloid leukemia (AML). Specifically, I am interested in ascertaining the role of GRB2 overexpression in AML progression. I utilize in vitro human malignant cell lines as well as transgenic zebrafish models in vivo to investigate both the role of GRB2 overexpression in growth dysregulation within the hematopoietic system.

 

Additionally I use GRB2 as a tool for investigating protective cell signaling pathways involved in receptor tyrosine kinase (RTK) resistance in bcr-abl positive AML cell lines.
